Great Northern Bushbow Longbow
Great Northern Bushbow
When bowhunters think of Great Northern bows, they often think of the Bushbow. Rooted in the long tradition of simple, refined hunting bows, the Bushbow draws inspiration from the bows used by the First Nations peoples of the North American plains. It is a direct descendant of traditional bow design at its finest efficient, dependable, and purpose-built for hunting.
The Bushbow features wide, flat limbs measuring 1 1/2” at the fadeouts and tapering to 9/16” at the string nocks. This broader limb profile provides exceptional stability and forgiveness, making the bow remarkably steady and easy to shoot accurately under hunting conditions.
The slightly deflexed riser measures 16” in length and approximately 4 3/4” in circumference around the leather-wrapped handle, creating a comfortable, natural feel in the hand. Our 5” power wedges are discreetly incorporated into the limb tips, eliminating the need for traditional tip overlays while improving performance, durability, and efficiency.
The Bushbow is a straightforward, no-nonsense hunting bow. Quiet, stable, and dependable, it inspires confidence from the first shot. Many archers discover they shoot more accurately and consistently than expected, thanks to the Bushbow’s forgiving nature and outstanding stability. In the field, it feels less like equipment and more like hunting with a trusted companion.
Bushbow limbs are available in your choice of red elm, osage, hickory, or bamboo cores. Riser woods are selected from our Dymondwood range, with power wedges matched to the riser wood selection.
Designed with the bowhunter in mind, Great Northern bows are built to balance smoothness, stability, and pointability without sacrificing real-world hunting performance for a few extra feet per second.
Through the years, Great Northern bows have evolved into exceptionally efficient hunting tools. From the longer Traditional Longbow to compact models like the Lil’ Creep, every bow is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail and built to last a lifetime or two.
We take great pride in our craftsmanship, and we believe it shows in every bow we build. Our best recommendations come from the bowhunters already shooting Great Northern bows. Rather than make grand claims, we invite you to shoot one yourself and experience the difference firsthand.
