Great Northern Ghost Recurve
The original design concept for the Ghost Recurve was inspired by the legendary Glenn St. Charles “Thunderbird” recurve of the 1950s. From the beginning, our goal was to create a recurve that departed from the bulky, conventional designs common today a slimmer, lighter handling bow that combined quick maneuverability with the speed and smoothness recurve shooters appreciate.
The result is the Ghost Recurve: a sleek, one-piece recurve with clean lines, exceptional balance, and impressive performance hidden within its deceptively simple design.
The limbs measure 1 1/2” wide at the fadeouts and taper gracefully to 9/16” at the string nocks. Depending on overall bow length, the riser measures either 16” or 17” long, with a leather-wrapped grip circumference of approximately 4 7/8”.
The arrow shelf is cut 1/8” out from center, matching the shelf configuration of our longbows. This allows archers to transition between Great Northern longbows and the Ghost Recurve without needing to adjust for shelf differences. For shooters who prefer a more traditional recurve setup, the Ghost is also available with a sight window cut to center.
Our 8” power wedges are incorporated into the limb tips, enhancing arrow speed while maintaining the smooth draw cycle and stability the Ghost is known for.
Ghost Recurve limbs are available in your choice of red elm, osage, hickory, or bamboo cores. Riser woods are selected from our Dymondwood range, with nock overlays matched to the riser wood unless otherwise requested.
Designed with the bowhunter in mind, the Ghost delivers speed and maneuverability without sacrificing smoothness, stability, or pointability. Lightweight in the hand and exceptionally natural to shoot, it has become a favorite among traditional hunters seeking high performance in an elegant, streamlined recurve.
